About Asian American Business Alliance of Greater Philadelphia (AABAGP)

The Asian American Business Alliance of Greater Philadelphia (AABAGP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering AAPI entrepreneurs and professionals through education, advocacy, and community-building. Most Asian American businesses were created out of necessity by immigrants—not design—leaving many owners without proper resources, training, or long-term planning. Many lack access to health insurance, retirement plans, and technical assistance, making them vulnerable to preventable financial and personal hardships. AABAGP exists to bridge this knowledge and access gap by providing business education, legal and compliance guidance, and support for sustainable growth—all in culturally appropriate and linguistically accessible formats. Language remains a major barrier; many AAPI business owners are not fluent in English, which limits their ability to navigate regulations, access capital, or qualify for government programs and contracts. As a business-focused nonprofit, AABAGP will provide: Educational programs on business development, compliance, financial literacy, and civic responsibility Technical training & individualized assistance Networking & vending opportunities Multilingual access through in-person events, online forums, radio, podcasts, and translated materials Charitable support for underserved communities, crime victims, and scholarship opportunities for youth Community-building initiatives to counter prejudice, defend civil rights, and promote cross-cultural harmony Asian Americans represent 7% of the U.S. population and reflect vast diversity in culture, language, and lived experience. What many have in common is entrepreneurship—and the challenges of starting, operating, and passing on a business.
