Abacus Ark Nursery Schools is a family-owned and family-led group of nurseries, providing exceptional childcare and early years education across London. Founded in 2012 by Anthony Ioannou, Abacus Ark was inspired by a long family tradition in early childhood education. Anthony's grandmother, Angela Carrington, established Toddlers Inn Nursery School in St John's Wood, where his mother Laura helped continue a philosophy centred on nurturing, play-based learning. Having begun his own early years journey there, Anthony developed a lifelong appreciation for the impact of high-quality childcare and education. After an early career in finance, Anthony returned to his roots to create Abacus Ark, combining the warmth of a family-run nursery with a modern, forward-thinking approach to early years education. In 2016, his wife Moira joined the business and has since progressed from the classroom to becoming Head of People and Culture. Together, they continue to lead the organisation with a commitment to excellence, innovation, and child-centred learning. Today, Abacus Ark is proud to support children, families, and educators through nurturing environments, inspiring learning experiences, and a culture that values curiosity, confidence, and wellbeing. As a growing nursery group, we are proud that our Wandsworth Riverside nursery was recognised as one of London's Top 10 Nurseries by Daynurseries.co.uk, reflecting our commitment to delivering exceptional early years education and care.
