About German Australian Business Council

The German Australian Business Council e.V. is a non-political business networking organisation. We provide a forum for the generation of business opportunities, contacts and information exchange, as well as the means for those interested in bilateral trade and investment between Germany and Australia to establish contact. The German Australian Business Council was originally founded in 1995 as ABIE Germany, and is run by an elected Board. Although there is a focus on the Frankfurt Rhein-Main region which reflects Germany's major commercial hub, we also have a very strong presence in Munich, and offer regular events in Munich and Berlin, as well as in selected other Germany cities. Our range of events is designed to keep members up-to-date with business and trade and investment developments affecting the Australian-German relationship, as well as with cultural and sporting happenings with a principal focus on Australia. These events often take place with the support of our corporate members or other sponsors and range from breakfast meetings, seminars, webinars, to more formal dinners such as the annual Ambassador's Dinner, and events featuring Australian art, culture and sport. The council is a member of Australian Business in Europe (ABIE) with branches across Europe and in Australia. We maintain close contact with these branches and attendance at other ABIE branch events within Europe and in Australia is open to our members
