Acorns Children's Hospice
We can’t add more time to a child’s life. But we can add more childhood to the time they have.
About Acorns Children's Hospice
When a child is diagnosed with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition, everything changes in an instant. The whole world is turned upside down. The future becomes uncertain, families don’t know where to turn for support and every moment matters more than ever. This is why Acorns Children’s Hospice exists. We help families cope at every stage of their child’s life and beyond, providing expert care, practical support and the strength to face whatever comes next. As the largest children’s hospice in the UK and Europe, we care for more than 1,000 children and families each year across the West Midlands and Gloucestershire. We provide specialist children’s palliative and end-of-life care that wraps around the whole family, not just the child. From our hospices in Birmingham, Walsall and Worcester, and in family homes and local communities, we provide care wherever it is needed most. We are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, working alongside NHS and community teams to ensure children and families receive joined-up, specialist support. At its heart, Acorns is about what becomes possible when care is truly connected around a child and family. We are about choice, dignity and helping families make the most of the time they have together. Because childhood does not stop when a child is seriously ill. Through Acorns Time Machine, we are reimagining how children and families experience care. We can’t add more time to a child’s life. But we can add more childhood to the time they have. Our specialist care helps families spend less time in crisis and more time together, creating moments childhood when they matter most. Registered Charity No. 700859
