Empowering humankind by advancing the study and use of strategic nonviolent action.
About Albert Einstein Institution
The Albert Einstein Institution (AEI) is a nonprofit organization advancing the study and use of strategic nonviolent action in conflicts since 1983. We have been responsible for the development and dissemination of some of the most influential texts on strategic nonviolent action. Many of these works have been studied among resistance movements worldwide. Our most popular book, from Dictatorship to Democracy by political theorist and AEI founder Gene Sharp, was first published in 1993. It has since been translated into at least 34 other languages and used by pro-democracy campaigns and human rights struggles around the world.
