About American Service Pets
American Service Pets has helped more than 325,000 people nationwide connect with Licensed Mental Health Professionals for Emotional Support Animal (ESA) and Psychiatric Service Animal (PSA) evaluations. Here's how it works: You start with a short online health assessment. A provider licensed in your state reviews it, and if an assistance animal is clinically appropriate for you, they may recommend an ESA letter or PSA letter as part of your mental health care. That call belongs to the provider, not to us. American Service Pets does not issue documentation directly. An ESA letter can support a housing accommodation request under the Fair Housing Act, though your landlord still reviews it. A Psychiatric Service Animal individually trained to perform disability-related tasks may be afforded public access protections under the ADA. We know the rules get confusing, so we publish plain-language resources on what ESAs and PSAs are, and what federal and state protections do and don't cover. We also work with licensed providers who want to offer ESA and PSA evaluations to their own patients, supporting them with structured workflows and clear clinical standards so they can stay focused on patient care. Through iTrain Academy we offer online dog training, and our store carries assistance animal accessories including leashes, ID cards, tags and harnesses.
