We are The Andover Companies. In 1828, a group of prominent town leaders in Andover, Massachusetts, met at a neighborhood tavern to determine how to financially protect local properties from fire. This meeting led to the creation of an insurance company, owned entirely by its policyholders. Today, we are The Andover Companies, one of the largest and longest-standing property and casualty mutual insurance groups in the Northeast, writing business across Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Illinois.
