ANIMONDIAL supports the tourism sector to improve animal welfare, halt biodiversity loss and contribute to nature’s recovery. Combining expertise in animal welfare science, biodiversity impact analysis and conservation, we guide tourism businesses to integrate biodiversity considerations into decision-making, minimise harms to nature and invest in ecosystem restoration. Working with organisations including ABTA, the World Travel & Tourism Council, UN Tourism and the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), as well as individual tourism businesses, ANIMONDIAL has developed sector-leading tools and guidance. These include tourism-related animal welfare standards, guidance to combat illegal wildlife trade, Biodiversity Literacy for Tourism, the award-winning NATOUR IMPACT assessment tool and the Nature Positive Tourism framework.
