Arkem Cyber
Cybercrime intelligence advisory. Original research and adversary understanding for high-stakes decisions.
About Arkem Cyber
Arkem Cyber is a boutique cybercrime intelligence advisory. We help security leaders, executives, and boards understand the people behind ransomware and cybercrime — and make better decisions before, during, and after high-pressure events. Most organizations facing serious cybercrime threats already have plenty of data: security tools, vendor feeds, threat intel subscriptions, internal teams. What they usually lack is adversary understanding — someone who can answer not just what happened, but who did it, why, how they operate, and what it means for you, right now. That's the idea behind Arkem. Cybercriminals are people. They have motivations, relationships, patterns, and decision-making logic that can be studied, understood, and anticipated. Intelligence built on that understanding is different in kind from intelligence built on log aggregation or automated indicator scoring. It's more specific, more decision-ready, and more useful to the people who have to act on it. What we are: a specialist advisory firm offering cybercrime intelligence advisory, original threat-actor research, executive and board education, incident decision support, and research partnerships — delivered in clear, decision-ready formats. What we're not: an incident response firm, a managed security provider, a compliance consultancy, a forensics shop, a ransomware negotiation service, or staff augmentation. That scope is narrow on purpose. Arkem Cyber was founded by Jon DiMaggio — cybercrime researcher, investigator, speaker, and author of The Art of Cyberwarfare (No Starch Press, 2022) and the Ransomware Diaries series. His work has been featured by CBS 60 Minutes, National Geographic's Trafficked, and ABC Australia's Four Corners; presented at RSA Conference, Black Hat, DEF CON, and SANS; and recognized with two SANS Difference Makers Awards. If you need to understand the adversary specifically, clearly, and in the context of real decisions, the right place to start is a conversation.
