The Armed Services YMCA is the longest-serving military nonprofit organization in America working to ease everyday life for military families carrying the quiet weight of service. For 165 years, we’ve helped military families navigate the challenges of deployments, frequent moves, and constant goodbyes by alleviating financial hardships, caring for military kids, and strengthening family well-being. We focus on junior enlisted service members and their families, those earliest in their careers, often raising young children on the tightest budgets. Nationwide, the Armed Services YMCA works closely with military commands on more than 100 bases and installations across the United States to identify gaps in services and fill them with free and low-cost programs for our brave military families. During the past year, we supported nearly 400,000 service members and their families, including more than 60,000 children, across all six branches of the Armed Services: Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard The Armed Services YMCA is a Charity Watch and Charity Navigator top-rated military nonprofit organization, ranking among the top 2% of charities nationwide for effectiveness and fiscal responsibility. We are an Association of the YMCA of the USA but operate as an independent military nonprofit. Unlike traditional YMCA branches, we are singularly focused on service members and their families, ​with programming tailored to their specific needs, locally where they are stationed.
