About Brothers Building A Better Nation

Brothers Building A Better Nation (BBABN) is a Newark-rooted mental health and human-development organization centered on the well-being of boys and men across the lifespan. We prioritize individuals and families navigating economic hardship, structural barriers, social isolation, instability, and barriers to culturally responsive care. Our work is built on a simple belief: Brotherhood is social infrastructure. Through community-based behavioral health care, mentorship, family partnership, practical support, and meaningful community connection, BBABN helps people strengthen their well-being, belonging, stability, agency, and sense of purpose. Our current work includes the William A. Moore In Community Therapy Program, which provides coordinated community-based behavioral health services for eligible youth and families, and the Healing-Centered Engagement Mentorship Program, a nonclinical youth-development program focused on dependable relationships, community learning, confidence, leadership, and belonging. BBABN also engages families, caregivers, schools, providers, public agencies, and community partners to strengthen the environments surrounding the people we serve. Rooted in Newark, we are building an organization where mental health care is connected to relationship, development, opportunity, and community—not delivered in isolation.
