Ben Richey Boys Ranch & Family Program is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing hope, healing, and stability for children and families during critical seasons of need. For more than 75 years, we have served the Big Country by offering a safe, structured, and faith-centered environment where lives are restored and brighter futures are made possible. Our Boys Ranch Program provides residential care for boys in modern, safe homes through the guidance of experienced, well-trained house parents and staff who bring both expertise and genuine hearts for kids. Operating across two campuses—Abilene, where the Ranch was founded in 1947, and a second campus established in 2004 near Albany—the program functions as one unified effort rooted in structure, relationship-based care, and daily life experiences that foster growth and responsibility. Boys are actively engaged in school, athletics, church, 4-H, FFA, individual interests, and equine therapy. In 2009, the Ranch expanded its mission with the launch of the Family Program, supporting single mothers and their children as they work toward stability and independence. Families receive safe housing, guidance, and practical support from compassionate staff committed to walking alongside them as mothers build skills in parenting, employment, money management, and goal setting. The Ranch also operates a Counseling and Training Center, providing trauma-informed counseling and education for children, adults, and families. With a no-shame, no-judgment approach rooted in dignity and faith, the Center equips individuals and communities with tools for healing, resilience, and healthy living. Together, we are creating spaces where hope is restored and futures are built—one life and one family at a time.
