About Bernicia Group
Bernicia has developed an enviable reputation as one of the North East’s largest and most successful housing providers; building, renting, selling and managing homes and providing specialist support services to over 60,000 customers. We deliver what we say we will, value our customers, work together and respect each other. We own and manage 14,000 properties and provide services for single people, couples, families and older people, and care and support services for those with additional support requirements. We have plans to invest £140m in both our existing and new homes across a spectrum of types and tenures, re-define the range and impact of our service offer and implement a digital agenda to make those services just a few clicks away for our customers. What we do makes a difference to people’s lives, so we are unashamedly performance driven and employ confident, proud and passionate people to achieve our ambitions - The Bernicia Way. Whilst predominantly a social landlord, we also have successful commercial trading subsidiaries that provide high quality block and facilities management, estate agency, private rented and open spaces management. We use the surplus they make to increase the social value we deliver to communities. We employ 550 people and have a progressive attitude to learning and innovation, with a commitment for staff to develop with us. During 2017 we were recognised as the Region’s fastest growing business, retained Investors in People gold accreditation and extended our award-winning apprenticeship and training programmes. In summary, we are a North East Housing Association that provides great homes and services.
