A self funding, independent business born out of a love for brands, the drinks industry and a desire to make a difference. We have made a commitment to both people and planet. As ‘Hobo’ brewers we don’t own our own brewery. But that’s our story. That’s what makes us a little bit different. We work with some of the best in the industry – people we now call friends, to help us create beers that are accessible, easy drinking and full of flavour whilst making a meaningful difference along the way. Big Hug is a brand with a social cause at its heart. It stands for not only great beer but also for community engagement and positive social impact. We believe that if everyone gave a little something back the world would be a better place for it. We aim to put good beer into the hands of good people, acting as a catalyst for the greater good. Our commitment extends beyond brewing; we strive to build a community that supports not only those facing homelessness but also our planet. Every beer sold supports either partnerships with homeless charities Only A Pavement Away, YMCA Downlink Group or, as of 2025, Centrepoint youth homelessness charity and positive climate action projects with One Tribe. That means every single beer we sell will have a positive social impact on either people or planet. Through direct contributions from our sales to selected charity partners via the Work For Good scheme and sustainable practices, we minimize our environmental impact while supporting positive climate actions globally We make beer with purpose.
