Biographica
ML-driven platform for precision design of next-gen seed genetics for productive, nutritious & climate resilient crops
About Biographica
Our mission at Biographica is to accelerate crop improvement, to feed a growing population on a changing planet. The world is facing a food security crisis. We must produce more food in the next 50 years than in the previous 10,000 combined - and at a time when climate change is reducing crop productivity. Gene-editing represents a significant opportunity to address this challenge, by enabling rapid and precise enhancement of crop varieties. However, identifying which genes to edit and how remains a major bottleneck, costing millions of dollars, taking over 2 years, and failing more than 95% of the time. At Biographica we're revolutionising this process, by harnessing recent developments in gene-editing, high-throughput sequencing and biology-aware machine learning. Our platform combines graph ML-based, in silico modelling with in vivo validation to rapidly pinpoint genomic modifications that can improve any trait, in any crop. Gene-editing is the future of food. With our platform, we intend to become the gene discovery engine behind the crops of the future.
