Empowering Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Communities Across Brighton, Hove, and the wider Sussex area since 1996.
About BMECP
Black and Minority Ethnic Community Partnership (BMECP) is a community-led charity and infrastructure organisation dedicated to empowering Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities across Brighton and Hove, with a vision to extend our impact throughout Sussex. Since 1996 we have served as a resource centre and community hub — a safe, welcoming “house” that connects, supports, and strengthens individuals, families, and groups within the BME community. Our vision is simple yet vital: "to create a sustainable and inclusive resource centre that champions the voices, well-being, and development of BME communities and their families". At BMECP, our work is rooted in community empowerment, practical support, and shared growth, offering culturally inclusive food support, wellbeing programmes, employment guidance, digital access, capacity-building training, and a safe space where communities gather, heal, and thrive. Our centre is a home for belonging — where people find practical help, emotional support, and a network that truly understands their journey. We are guided by the belief that when we lift each other, we all rise together.
