BrainFocus
EEG computational solutions for neurologists to improve care of patients with drug-resistant epilepsy
About BrainFocus
BrainFocus is a medtech start-up based in Barcelona that works with clinicians to help them improve care for patients suffering from epilepsy. We develop unique computational tools to assist epileptologists in the diagnosis and treatment of drug-resistant epilepsy, specialising in intracranial EEG. The company, which is a spin-off from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), was founded by Adrià Tauste Campo, Manel Vila-Vidal and Bart Huisken in Ferbruary 2023. With more than 15 years of research experience at the BrainFocus research lab, our team is determined to bring cutting-edge advances in computational neuroscience to real epilepsy care. Our first product is BrainFocus iEEG, a cloud-based software that improves and speeds up the diagnostic process with a variety of quantitative and visualisation tools, highlighting seizure patterns that remain invisible to the human eye. Our solution assists clinicians during diagnosis, reducing the error associated with visual inspection and increasing the diagnostic accuracy.
