Improving the understanding of animal science through events, meetings, research, publications and knowledge transfer
About BISAS - British & Irish Society of Animal Science
The British Society of Animal Science is a charity which works to improve the understanding of animal science associated primarily with the ethical, economical and sustainable production of animal-derived foods but also in relation to companion and zoological animals. Through its events, meetings and publications, it connects people across the livestock chain (from scientists to producers, processors and policy makers), equine, companion, and other animal industries to encourage collaboration and share the latest in animal research. The Society runs regular conferences and workshops for academics, scientists, students and people working in the industry to share the latest in animal science, and supports the development of early career scientists and ongoing continuing professional development within academia and industry. It also publishes Animal, a monthly international journal of animal bioscience published in collaboration with EAAP (European Federation for Animal Science) and INRA (French National Institute for Animal Research).
