About Büro Koray Duman
Büro Koray Duman is a research and idea-driven architectural practice in New York City led by Koray Duman. The studio believes that existing boundaries in architecture and design can be expanded upon and propelled via critical thinking and courage. We are not satisfied with either / or solutions. We strive for both. Architecture should be functional and unexpected, engaged and poetic, experimental and affordable. We believe in the power of architecture to have the ability to challenge our perception of everyday life and, at times, shock and surprise us. Buro provides a full range of architectural services, from design concept to construction administration. The studio’s work features residential, commercial and institutional projects, including flagship stores for Design Within Reach, the headquarters of Council of Fashion Designers of America, a studio renovation and building for the artist Richard Prince and prototype for a new Cultural Center. Buro's projects have been exhibited internationally and featured in publications including the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Interior Design Magazine, Architectural Record and Dwell. Büro has been distinguished by the Architizer A+Awards for Emerging Firm of the Year for 2017 and Winner for the Commercial-Factories and Warehouses Category for 2017.
