About Arctic Business Index

In spring 2025, the project was endorsed by the Arctic Council Sustainable Development Working Group with the new project name, Arctic Business Index. Norway and Canada are co-leads of the project. The main objective of the Arctic Business Index project (previously known as Business Index North) is to increase awareness of opportunities as well as challenges for sustainable economic development in the Arctic. Since 2016, we have collected and analyze data, developed analytical reports, online tools, and contributed to informed debate via various dialogue arenas for Arctic stakeholders. The project provides reliable, knowledge-based information about sustainable economic development in the Arctic for decision makers such as international institutional bodies, national and regional authorities, investors, and entrepreneurs. This information is also used by educators, the media, and students.
