Canine Stroke Foundation
Canine and feline stroke prevention through veterinary science
About Canine Stroke Foundation
The Canine Stroke Foundation connects veterinary science with the families it serves—bridging the gap between clinical knowledge and client understanding in the often-overlooked area of canine and feline cerebrovascular events. Through open-access research, real-world case documentation, and thoughtfully developed resources, we aim to support both veterinary professionals and pet owners with clear, compassionate, and accessible information when it matters most. We aim to connect veterinary professionals, researchers, and the families they serve through evidence-based resources, peer-contributed case data, and a growing body of accessible research. Among our long-term goals is establishing a funding program to help families access the diagnostics they need when it matters most and building a dedicated research team to drive canine and feline stroke science forward. Our first project, The Finley Initiative, is currently in development — a dedicated research and resource hub designed to close the gap between what the science knows and what reaches the clinic and the home. The Canine Stroke Foundation was founded by Jordan Davis, a veterinary technician with over 10 years of hands-on clinical experience, following the stroke of her own dog, Finley. His experience became the catalyst for a mission driven by the belief that better outcomes start with better information — for clinicians, for researchers, and for the families facing a diagnosis with nowhere to turn. The foundation is currently in its formative stage and actively seeking board members, volunteers, and investors who share a commitment to advancing canine and feline cerebrovascular research and improving outcomes for pets and their families.
