About CBI | Transforming Trade Together

CBI promotes sustainable production and trade between low and middle-income countries and Europe. We partner with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and their ecosystem to strengthen social and environmental sustainability. We offer export coaching projects for SMEs, access to market information, matchmaking with European buyers, knowledge brokerage and strategic partnerships. Our services support SMEs, experts, importers and partners who want to contribute to fair and future-proof trade. In our work, we use a systems approach; we recognise that unsustainable practices are often the result of complex systems. By supporting sustainability transitions, we aim to address the primary causes of problems in existing systems. Addressing these problems requires collaboration with partners. That is why we develop and carry out projects in close cooperation with local and international stakeholders, partner organisations and other Dutch government-funded programmes.
