Central Furniture Rescue exists for the purpose of collecting basic used furniture and other household items and providing them at no cost to individuals and families transitioning from homeless shelters into their own homes without the finncial ability to provide even minimal furniture and household items for themselves. A good nights sleep. A kitchen with items to make a meal. Dinner around the table, furniture to gather with family. Tucking a child into bed. reading a bedtime story. cuddling babies on the couch. We all have a right to these things - a right to items in the background of happy memories. And Central Furniture Rescue makes it possible. Your support changes lives. When a person or family is transitioning out of homelessness into a housing secure place to live, they’er facing heavy expenses that come with rent, food, utilities, transportation and healthcare while balancing responsibilities of employment and schooling for children. Often, no resources remain for essential household items that turn a cold place to live into a home- like a be and bedding,kitchen items, and basic living room furniture.
