About Coast Guard Mutual Assistance
Coast Guard Mutual Assistance (CGMA) is the official aid society for the Coast Guard, providing essential financial aid to the entire Coast Guard community. Through interest-free loans, grants and financial counseling, CGMA helps with a wide range of items from challenging financial issues to major life transitions. This includes educational benefits, disaster relief, emergency assistance, medical, dental, and housing assistance. With diverse programs, Mutual Assistance is poised to provide timely and reliable support to active duty military men and women, reserve members, civilian employees, Auxiliary (volunteers), retirees and their families. Since its inception in 1924, CGMA has provided over $221 million in direct assistance.
