The Chartered College of Teaching is the professional body for teachers. As the professional body, our mission is to empower a knowledgeable and respected teaching profession. Through membership and accreditation, we are working to: - develop effective, evidence-informed teachers and leaders - improve the quality of professional learning - establish more robust career pathways for teachers - improve job satisfaction within the teaching profession.  By working closely with others in the sector we know we can raise the status of the teaching profession so that:  - teaching is seen as a high-status profession, with policy based on research and teachers’ input - recruitment and retention rates are no longer an issue - there are improved outcomes for all children and young people.
