About CILUX Compliance Consultancy
CILUX Compliance Consultancy helps companies and organisations do business responsibly and within the law. The practice covers corporate compliance and integrity in full breadth (such as anti-corruption and bribery, anti-money laundering, and whistleblowing systems), with a focus on trade compliance: sanctions, export controls and dual-use. Founded in 2015 by Jan Cuppen, CILUX Compliance Consultancy builds on a legal background and more than thirty years of experience in business, over twenty of them in compliance. The approach is simple to state and demanding to practise: strategy before tactics, and tactics before execution. The hardest questions arise where those three meet, and are handled with discretion and with a clear sense of both how regulators think and how a business actually runs. Engagements often start with a concrete question: the due diligence of a complex transaction, covering sanctions screening, export classification and end-user checks; an Internal Compliance Programme (ICP) that must be drafted or strengthened; or a programme that needs repair after something has gone wrong. Clients range from Dutch companies to international players, in sectors from aviation, maritime and defence to research, software and logistics. Some are named, many remain unnamed at their request; discretion comes with the profession. Not every question is one for CILUX, but a first, confidential conversation is always welcome via cilux.nl.
