About Cinecittà
Cinecittà è la società pubblica che opera come braccio operativo del Ministero della Cultura, e una delle principali realtà del settore cinematografico, con una varietà di impegni e attività che si traducono nella più ampia missione di sostegno alla cinematografia e all'audiovisivo italiani. Con l’approvazione nel luglio 2017 dell’acquisizione del ramo d’azienda di Cinecittà Studios, gli storici studi di Via Tuscolana sono ritornati sotto il controllo pubblico gestiti e coordinati da Cinecittà, che ne cura ampliamento e valorizzazione delle attività. Tra le attività assegnate a Cinecittà per il sostegno e la valorizzazione del cinema italiano: la distribuzione e promozione di opere prime e seconde; la produzione documentaristica; l’organizzazione in tutto il mondo di rassegne e retrospettive sul cinema italiano; le attività editoriali; la gestione del portale nazionale delle location e degli incentivi alla produzione; la Cineteca con 3mila film sottotitolati; la conservazione, valorizzazione e diffusione dell’Archivio Storico dell’Istituto Luce, entrato nel 2013 nel prestigioso Registro ‘Memory of the World’ dell’UNESCO; la gestione del Fondo per la Produzione, la Distribuzione, l’Esercizio e le Industrie Tecniche previsto dalla Legge Cinema; la gestione delle attività dei Media Desk del progetto Europa Creativa.
