About Cumberland County, PA
Cumberland County Government exists to serve its residents and provide the most livable community with the most efficient and effective public services in Pennsylvania. Cumberland County is a county located in South Central Pennsylvania that was formed January 27, 1750 from Lancaster county. Named for Cumberland County in England, it originally extended to Pennsylvania's western limits. With a population of just over 250,000 people based on the 2017 Pennsylvania State Data Center report, it is the fastest growing county within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The county houses six higher education institutions, eight public libraries, three hospitals, two military operations, and much more.
