Curiously gives high schools, colleges, and workforce organizations a way to systematically teach their learners how to find, drive and reflect on early work experience. Institutions have historically stood between learners and employers, curating opportunities on their behalf. This approach has not, and will never, scale. Curiously teaches learners to build the skills and confidence to activate the social capital already in their lives and then supports them through the full experience of starting work: identifying opportunity, initiating outreach, taking on high impact workstreams, and reflecting on what they've learned. As learners activate their own networks, each cohort generates more opportunity for the next, turning a fixed institutional resource into a growing one. Simultaneously, we collect the word-of-mouth insights that learners gather from their conversations and experiences, elevating knowledge about local industries for all.
