Every industrial or commercial asset on Earth now carries a compounding risk that almost nobody can see. A steel plant in China, a warehouse in Miami, a real estate portfolio in Europe - each carries its own exposure to floods, heat, water stress, and the rising cost of carbon, but that exposure exists almost entirely off the books. Emissions get reported once a year, if at all, in a format built for compliance rather than decisions. Climate risk gets modelled at the scale of a country or a sector, not a single building. For the banks lending against these assets, the companies investing in them, and the governments regulating them, the physical asset they're actually exposed to remains, in financial terms, mostly invisible. DEFINE was built to predict and price climate risk. For a long time now, emissions have been measured, physical climate risk has been modelled, and plant operations have been tracked. What's been missing is doing all three at once, for a single asset - at a resolution someone can actually lend, invest, or buy against. DEFINE fuses geospatial emissions data, IPCC-aligned physical climate risk, and primary plant-level operations data into one harmonised, benchmarkable intelligence layer - and it is the first system of its kind to do so. It now covers more than 1 million assets worldwide, including over 1,000 steel plants, turning what used to be a once-a-year compliance filing into a live, decision-grade number. At DEFINE we started with steel, one of the most emissions-intensive, hardest-to-decarbonize industries in the world, and have since extended the same intelligence layer to real estate, proving the model is not sector-locked. The validation has followed the traction. In 2025, DEFINE was ranked #1 globally by UNIDO in its "Enabling Policy & Regulatory Innovation" category, ahead of roughly 700 AI solutions submitted from 97 countries, including over 100 from China, North America, and Europe.
