About Digital Health Denmark

Patients should experience continuity in their care across the healthcare system. That requires healthcare professionals to be able to spend their time on patients rather than systems. It requires citizens to be able to trust that their health data is used securely. And it requires research and innovation to have the best possible conditions for developing the treatments of tomorrow. That is why we have been established as part of the healthcare reform. We are bringing together MedCom, sundhed.dk, the Danish Health Data Authority – including the Danish National Genome Center – and a number of shared national IT solutions that are currently managed by the regions. Together, we develop digital solutions, strengthen the use of health data and build the digital infrastructure needed to create a healthcare system that is more accessible, equitable and connected. We believe the best solutions are created together. That is why we work closely with the state, regions, municipalities, general practice, research environments and vendors to develop solutions that make it easier to be a patient. Easier to be a healthcare professional. And easier to turn data into new knowledge through research and innovation. Digital Health Denmark will be formally established on 1 January 2027. Until then, we are bringing the organisation together, creating a shared direction and building on the strong professional environments and solutions that already exist.
