Earthwatch Institute expands access to hands-on science through teacher fellowships and student field programs.
About Earthwatch Institute
Earthwatch Institute is focused on expanding access to hands-on science education. Today, the Institute’s work centers on programs that connect teachers and students with real-world research—through educator fellowships, student field experiences, and grants that help bring science learning into classrooms and communities. Through programs like Teach Earth and Girls in Science, Earthwatch Institute helps educators and young people step into the field, work alongside scientists, and bring that experience back to others. The goal is simple: make science feel more accessible, more relevant, and more connected to the world students are inheriting. While Earthwatch Institute’s expedition programs are now operated by Natural Habitat Adventures, the Institute continues its work as a nonprofit focused on education, access, and the next generation of environmental leaders.
