ECCO – the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation – is a highly active non-profit medical association dedicated to advancing the understanding, treatment, and care of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD). While rooted in Europe, our work fosters global collaboration to drive progress beyond borders. Our Mission We strive to improve research, education, and collaboration in the field of IBD, with the ultimate goal of improving patient outcomes and moving closer to complete disease control. What We Do 🔷 We shape IBD management through the development of educational resources and the publication of evidence-based ECCO manuscripts in JCC. 🔷 We educate healthcare professionals across disciplines, including gastroenterologists, surgeons, paediatricians, pathologists, endoscopists, nurses, dietitians, radiologists, and allied experts. 🔷 We organise impactful national and international scientific and educational programmes. 🔷 We enhance the quality of IBD research, from basic science to clinical studies. 🔷 We promote and support research collaborations at both the national and international level. 🔷 We act as a voice for IBD in Europe, partnering with medical societies, patient organisations, and industry stakeholders. 🔷 We play an active role in United European Gastroenterology (UEG) initiatives, including UEG Week. At ECCO, we believe that collaboration, innovation, and education are key to transforming IBD care worldwide.
