Our research output has directly benefitted millions of people in areas such as preventing childhood pneumonia, more effective cardiovascular and liver surgery, reducing blood transfusions, ovarian cryopreservation and stroke prevention and management. Formally established in 1726, Edinburgh Medical School is one of two schools at the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, spread across several campuses at the BioQuarter, Western General Hospital, the University central area and Royal Edinburgh Hospital.
