ENGICOLL is a deep-tech startup co-founded by two experts in food ingredients and recombinant collagen. Our goal is to revolutionize the global B2B collagen peptide market for dietary supplement and functional food manufacturers, a fast-growing market expected to reach $800M by 2030. Today, collagen peptides are extracted from animal tissues, raising ethical, animal welfare, environmental, public health, and food safety concerns. Conventional collagen peptides have limited efficacy due to their low content of bioactive di- and tripeptides such as GPO (generally <1%), which are naturally present only in small amounts in animal collagens. Daily doses of up to 10-20g are typically required, creating formulation constraints for manufacturers and compromising consumer experience. TrueColl® One addresses these three challenges simultaneously. Produced through precision fermentation, this patented collagen peptide is animal-free, composed exclusively of highly active di- and tripeptides (>50% GPO), and is effective at a very low daily dose from 100mg to support active living, healthy ageing and longevity. It provides manufacturers with ease of formulation and strong innovation and product differentiation potential, while delivering a premium consumer experience, unlocking previously inaccessible markets. A proof of concept has been validated, and strong market interest confirmed. A patent covering food, cosmetic, and medical applications has been filed. One of the global leaders in food ingredients has signed a letter of intent for co-development and commercialization support in Food. We have also entered into an agreement with a leading international cosmetics company for an exclusive license to exploit our patent in this field. We are preparing a Seed round, already partially secured, to finalize the development of TrueColl® One.
