About Eupnoos
Eupnoos is building a safety intelligence layer for clinical trials — using a simple breath test to detect early signs of patient deterioration. Our proprietary clinical-grade measurement tools, SounDx Vita and Puffin (paediatric), turn a smartphone into a physiological assessment device. In just 10–15 seconds, patients perform a guided breathing manoeuvre, allowing us to extract objective signals such as airflow, lung restriction, and fluid in the lungs — measurements that would otherwise require multiple tests or hospital visits. What makes Eupnoos unique is that we do not simply monitor symptoms — we measure underlying physiology and translate it into actionable insight. Instead of asking “is the patient breathless?”, we help answer: Is this drug-related toxicity or something else? Is this early lung injury, infection, or cardiac involvement? Can treatment continue safely? This creates a new layer in clinical trials: continuous, at-home physiological safety monitoring. Today, safety assessment is episodic, subjective, and often delayed — relying on site visits, imaging, and investigator judgement. Eupnoos fills the gap between visits by providing frequent, standardised measurements that can flag risk earlier and support more confident attribution of adverse events. This is particularly valuable in oncology and cardiopulmonary trials, where adverse events such as lung toxicity and heart failure are common but difficult to distinguish, early physiological changes can precede clinical recognition by weeks, and misattribution can lead to unnecessary dose reductions or missed safety signals. Our approach is designed for diverse and often underserved populations, including children, frail and elderly patients, adults with complex multi-system disease, and participants in decentralised trials. By enabling simple, repeatable testing anywhere, we improve both data quality and patient accessibility.
