Fat Macy's
Charity and social enterprise supporting Londoners experiencing homelessness move from hostel to home.
About Fat Macy's
Founded in 2016, Fat Macy's is a charity and social enterprise which supports people experiencing homelessness towards lasting and secure employment, resettlement and better personal wellbeing. We deliver on this mission through our Milestone Programme: 1. Training Academy Over six weeks, our structured sessions help trainees gain essential hospitality and wider employability skills while building their CV and confidence. Participants also obtain a Level 2 Certificate in Food Hygiene & Safety. 2. Transitioning into employment After completing the programme, we support participants into paid work through our employer partners and networks. Once a trainee has maintained employment for three months, the hunt for a home begins. 3. Access to a Move On grant We help participants find suitable long-term accommodation in the private rented sector. This includes financial assistance worth up to £1,500 for a rental deposit and moving costs. One of the biggest hurdles of moving on from temporary accommodation is saving for a deposit. 4. Ongoing resettlement support After our trainees are in a new home, we continue to provide ongoing resettlement support for one year to ensure they can successfully sustain their tenancy.
