Creating smiles across the miles - recordable digital picture books for people who can't be there at story time
About Featherbed Tales Limited
Your story. Your voice. Their storytime. At Featherbed Tales, we’re on a mission to help families stay connected — especially when they can’t be together in person. We initially launched with a beautiful series of picture books, designed for children up to around age 6, all brought to life by the magical illustrations of South African artist Tori Stowe. Family members can record these stories in their own voices, giving children the choice of who reads to them at bedtime, or when they’re feeling lonely or in need of comfort This was born from the fact that research shows that hearing a parent’s or loved one’s voice can be as powerful as a hug — reducing stress, easing anxiety, and offering emotional reassurance. Now we have added a new feature to our platform. Our new ‘Your Story, Your Voice’ technology allows people to record themselves reading a story or speaking their memories over personalised photographs/stories or illustrations to be enjoyed by anyone, anytime, anywhere. These digital story books are being used in hospices to bring comfort to patients, in care homes to reconnect residents with familiar voices and memories, and in dementia care to spark recognition and emotional connection. They support children in hospital, offering a sense of home and calm during challenging times. In SEND and early years classrooms, they help build communication and emotional understanding. They’re also proving invaluable for those with learning disabilities or who are non-verbal, offering a powerful, personal way to share stories and connect with others. Because we believe that the most treasured stories are the ones told by those who matter most 💛 Take a look: 🔗 https://linktr.ee/featherbedtales
