The name stops people. It's supposed to. Fierce and Buddha don't usually belong together — one is all edge, the other all center. Put them together and you get what I bring to every engagement: the ability to say the hard thing with enough care that people can actually hear it. I founded Fierce Buddha Consulting in 2018 after 30 years of working inside mission-driven organizations at every level — receptionist, program manager, director, Vice President of Community Impact, Chief Equity Officer — across the public, private, nonprofit, and education sectors. I have also spent many years as a volunteer and donor, contributing my time, talent, and treasure to the communities I serve. I have sat in every seat in the house. That full-stack perspective is what I bring to the leaders, HR teams, and boards I work with today. And here's what I've learned from all of it: most organizations don't have a strategy problem. They have a trust problem. The gap between what leadership intends and what staff actually experiences. The equity statement that lives on the website but dies in the intake form. The team that's talented and committed and somehow still can't find each other across the distance of hierarchy and history. That gap is expensive. It costs organizations their best people, their credibility with the communities they serve, and their ability to deliver on the mission they exist for. Fierce Buddha Consulting closes it. I do this through three kinds of work: leadership and culture alignment, equity strategy and implementation, and strategic program and impact consulting. The result my clients describe most often isn't a deliverable. It's a shift. People start showing up differently. That's the moment I work toward every time.
