Flamingo Chicks
Innovation and inclusion through dance! Plus parent/carer support network, global outreach, advocacy and volunteering.
About Flamingo Chicks
Flamingo Chicks is a multi-award winning charity and inclusive community giving disabled children the opportunity to explore movement. Over 30,000 children have danced with us since we began! We also provide a vital peer support network for parents and carers, inter-generational volunteering, global outreach and youth-led advocacy. Flamingo Chicks is breaking boundaries; we're a growing movement of people changing the way society treats disabled children. We’ve found that all too often disabled children are either excluded or segregated from social activities. Through our network of committed intergenerational volunteers, Flamingo Chicks ensures all children are welcome and have fun, whilst providing a strong and supportive environment for the whole family. 100% of parents and carers would recommend Flamingo Chicks to others and say classes improve their child’s social development, confidence and wellbeing. We won a Pride of Sport award – they made a lovely short film which summarises what we do: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=On23-Ctwrx4
