Our mission is twofold: we tell you what is happening in the oil market, and we tell you what the market is actually worth. We cover one market, at extraordinary depth. In two years, we've built a source network across refineries, terminals, physical traders and brokers, accelerated by Jorge Montepeque's forty years of relationships in the industry. We also have access to something almost nobody else does: one of the largest oil derivatives trading floors in the world. That gives us exceptional sources and a unique dataset on flows, positioning, pricing and market behaviour in an OTC market where much of that information is otherwise invisible. So we analyse who is doing what, where risk is building, how the market is positioned, and what that means for price. Often, traders hedge the physical barrel before it moves. We can see the hedge before others see the ship. Then comes the price assessment. We publish our own oil prices, show the reasoning behind them, and challenge the market when we disagree, led independently by Jorge, one of the people who helped build the benchmarks the industry still uses today.
