Fondazione Umberto Veronesi ETS was established in 2003 by Umberto Veronesi, an important figure in cancer treatment and in the international scientific community. He brought vigour and innovation to medical research in Italy and revolutionised the way cancer is perceived and improved access to treatment, while opening the way to conservative surgery for breast cancer.
