About France Parkinson
En France, on estime à 270 000 le nombre de personnes touchées par la maladie de Parkinson (et les maladies apparentées). Elle constitue la maladie neurodégénérative la plus fréquente après Alzheimer. Depuis sa création en 1984, l'association France Parkinson, reconnue d'utilité publique, a pour missions d’apporter un soutien aux personnes malades et à leurs proches ; d’informer sur la maladie, les traitements et les aides existantes ; de sensibiliser l’opinion et d’interpeller les médias ; de mobiliser les pouvoirs publics et de financer, encourager et faciliter la recherche (+ de 14,5 millions de financement sur les dix dernières années). L'association compte actuellement près de 10 000 adhérents. Elle est constituée de 80 comités départementaux animés par plus de 900 bénévoles. Le siège, se situant à Paris, est composé d’une petite équipe dynamique de permanents (vingtaine de salariés) et de bénévoles réguliers. Les principales missions de l'association France Parkinson : - Soutenir les malades et leurs proches - Informer sur la maladie, les traitements et les aides existantes - Financer la recherche - Sensibiliser l'opinion et interpeller les médias - Mobiliser les pouvoirs publics
