Our expertise in all these areas comes to use for applications as diverse as automation, inspection or civil security: Our technology assists drivers or doctors in critical situations, detects and analyses dangers in public spaces or revolutionises deep-sea research using underwater drones, to name just a few examples. With more than 500 employees - 350 of them in Karlsruhe and Ettlingen - the Fraunhofer IOSB is one of the larger Fraunhofer Institutes.
