About Future Front Texas
As a 501c3 arts and culture nonprofit, we bring creative and cultural projects by diverse, contemporary Texas artists to the world. Across three seasons, our public citywide programs model the value of Texas-local art and creativity in our everyday lives and dreams for the future. We produce two annual community-led exhibitions, The Front Market and The Front Festival, as well as seasonal shows and workshops at our creative space in East Austin, welcoming 20,000+ visitors per year. And all are welcome. Since 2017, we’ve been recognized by Texas Monthly, NPR, the National Endowment for the Arts, The Texas Commission on the Arts, The City of Austin and more. We got our start in the community, too. Future Front began as a casual meet-up series in 2015, founded by a scrappy collective of women and LGBTQ+ artists. We are now run by a passionate staff and network of 100+ volunteers and collaborators. With this diverse network of partnerships, our programs pioneer models for community design, cultural infrastructure and artistic place-making—powering public engagement and designing public spaces for local creativity and community belonging throughout Austin and Central Texas. Together, we’re building a future where local art and creativity thrive in Texas—where we see ourselves and our cultures reflected in our communities.
