About Gamma Iota Sigma
Gamma Iota Sigma (GIS) is a 501c3 educational organization centered around our mission to promote, encourage, and sustain student interest in careers across all functional areas in insurance, risk management and actuarial science. With a growing network of 7,000 students and 35,000 alumni from 177 colleges and universities throughout North America, Gamma Iota Sigma leads the sustainable growth and diversification of the industry’s student talent pipeline. GIS members benefit from world-class programs, innovative partnerships, critical industry support, expansive campus engagement, and an unrivaled lifelong professional network. Incorporated in 1965, GIS has over 50 years of experience engaging students and preparing them for careers in insurance, risk management and actuarial science. The Gamma Iota Sigma Foundation, established in 2022, serving it's mission is to broaden access to opportunities and resources by reducing barriers to participation. Through strategic partnerships and philanthropic support, the Foundation is committed to ensuring that more students can engage in meaningful professional development and prepare for successful careers in insurance, risk management, and actuarial science.
