Building autonomous technology that enhances human agency | The world's first Intelligent Guide for the blind community
About Glidance
For over 300 million people worldwide who are blind or have low vision, independent navigation remains the single greatest barrier to freedom and personal agency. Glidance exists to change that — and in doing so, lay the foundation for how intelligent machines will one day move among us: safely, and in ways that extend human capability rather than replace it. Founded by Amos Miller — a blind technologist who pioneered spatial augmented reality at Microsoft Research and led Microsoft Soundscape — Glidance is an autonomous technology company building the future of robotics and intelligent wayfinding to serve real human needs. Breakthroughs in AI, computer vision, and robotics over the past few years have opened new frontiers in understanding the physical world — and with it, the ability to help people move through it. Glide is the first meaningful evolution in primary mobility aids for the blind and low vision community in nearly a century. Affordable, easy to use, and quick to learn, it physically guides you through both familiar and new environments. It uses real-time data from an array of advanced sensors to map the best routes, identify targets of interest, and avoid obstacles to get you safely to your destination. It is the product of years of work by our team of engineers, researchers, designers, O&M specialists, and AI and machine learning specialists, developed alongside a community of more than 8,000 blind and low vision individuals and leading academic institutions. Our philosophy is that every decision should come from rigorous testing and feedback by those whose lives will be most impacted by it. We look forward to having you with us on this journey.
