The Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce seeks to unite all the public and private interests for the purpose of concerted action in supporting those activities which are broader than any single business or industry, but which promote the welfare of the city and area as a whole. The Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce is a working partnership of business and professional people with an interest in the community and area. It is an organization of people who know the wisdom of coordinating their efforts under effective leadership for advancement and development of the community and the free enterprise system. In Business For Business Today in the United States there are more than 5,000 chambers of commerce. The Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce, as a counterpart of her sister organizations in other cities and states, is an organization through which the voluntary manpower of our community works effectively to make the Macon region a better place in which to work and enjoy living. It is a marshalling ground for civic endeavor. It is the community's department of progress.
