We back growth - and growth is driven by people. The founders and teams we work with understand that. They have pride in their businesses, but they also have humility. Their plans are ambitious but they’re also pragmatic. We may have patient capital, but our operators are anything but patient. They’re people who have built a fundamentally strong business model in attractive markets, and are primed for further scaling. We are primarily backed by an entrepreneur, Richard Harpin, so we have the privilege of being able to take a longer-term view. That matters, because we recognise that growth isn’t linear. It also means we can be flexible. We can structure a partnership the right way, whether that means capital for organic growth (for new products, channels or geographies), acquisitions, or to de-risk.
