About GrowthFactor

GrowthFactor is building the AI analyst for commercial real estate. We started at MIT Sloan, where our three founders were classmates studying analytics and modeling. They began applying what they were learning to Books-A-Million, the family business of GrowthFactor CEO Clyde Anderson. After several projects, they kept running into the same bottleneck: commercial real estate. Even strong real estate teams, equipped with the best tools available, still spend enormous amounts of time researching markets, comparing sites, pulling together disconnected data, and building analyses to support multimillion-dollar decisions. So we built the tool we wished existed. GrowthFactor helps multi-unit retailers decide where to grow, and helps brokers and advisors make better recommendations to their clients. Users ask questions in plain English, see answers on a live map, and inspect the data and models behind them. GrowthFactor brings company performance data together with trusted demographic, mobility, traffic, and market data so teams can evaluate more opportunities, move faster, and confidently stand behind their recommendations. The results: → Books-A-Million increased openings from 6 stores to 19 with the same real estate headcount. Those new stores generate 14.1% more sales per square foot. → Cavender's increased openings from 9 stores in 2024 to 27 in 2025, while eliminating roughly $200K/year in outside consultant fees. Within one year of working with GrowthFactor, both brands roughly tripled their opening pace, with new locations performing at or above expectations. Founded in 2023. Headquartered in Cambridge, MA.
